Our Oldfield Series Kerner Icewine was harvested on December 7, 2009 between 7am and 9am. It was a chilly -11 Celsius when everyone arrived to start picking.
The bright acidity allows the flavours of honey and dried apricot with notes of orange blossom and citrus to shine though without it tasting overly sweet.

Winemaker Notes
Our Oldfield Series Kerner Icewine was harvested on December 7, 2009 between 7am and 9am. It was a chilly -11 Celsius when everyone arrived to start picking. It took 2 hours for our one acre of Kerner to be picked and another four hours for the grapes to be pressed. After pressing the Kerner was moved to stainless steel barrels where it fermented over the next six weeks. After fermentation the Kerner aged in the stainless steel barrels for several months before bottling at the end of April 2010.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine is great partner for a variety of dishes (not just desserts). Try with a variety of strong, rich cheeses such as Gargonzola or Brie. Feeling adventurous? How about a spicy or salty appetizer before dinner paired with this wine?
